  1. As a former employee, i live with the guilt of what I did as well as what I witnessed. They hire people with minimal or no medical/ veterinary training. Yvette walks through, making a list, the kill list to be carried out at the closing of the day. She doesnt even know each animal one on one. Some have been there months others just days. no one did micro chip scanning when animal came in. so not much was ever done to find the strays owner. and yes ALL animals marked adopted, were not adopted. They had us turn the animals id/info card around, thats how we indentified it was being euthanized that day. so if it was on the adoption floor, and a person asked why the card was turned around, we were told to lie and say it was adopted, paperwork pending. Most dogs kept in the 2 rooms you dont see are euthaninzed, they dont make to the "showroom" same with the 3 rooms of cats in the back by the bad room. The death room as I call it. They automatically kill pregnant female cats because they are to populated. They had me and the other woman who has been there the longest euthanizing cats as they came in, the cat never saw a different room. I have been in therapy for the last 2 years because of that place. They would want me to kill puppies and just born kittens. I couldnt do it. When I quit, Mrs Fritch and I had nasty words. They take advantage of people and their wanting to sincerely help animals. That facility is fake. The put on a act of being caring, and animals are in their best interest. ITS ALL MASK TO HIDE WHAT TRULY GOES ON!!!!! Just because you don't inject the poison does not mean you are not directly responsible. They give the kill list. I pray for forgiveness every day. And to the people who think that for a $60 dollar donation to humanely put your pet to sleep, well didnt you ever wonder why they do it behind closed doors and owner can not be present. The kill procedure goes as follows, most of the time the dogs or cat will be injected with sedation, (only if the pet is too jumping or hold to handle) the a hear stick of beuthanasia is giv en, then the animal lies on the cement floor unattended((they are usually to short staffed to keep a qualified person in the room monitoring the animal while its dying.) I have gone back in the room, and its still not dead, its suffering. They dont have anyone certified to know how much to draw in the syringe or to hit a vein. The dog catcher was who taught us the heart stick. I am a veterinary tech, who was repremanded for taking the time to do a vein stick. Iwas also repremanded for challenging the euthanasia of a pitbull who was a very sweet tempermented girl with definate potential for a family. I am very thankful that you have the site, I will help in any way I can to change that place.

  3. The Fritch's should be in prison for their crimes here. They have certainly broken many animal welfare laws.
To not even attempt to find a stray's owner is beyond words of evil.
How much time would it take to scan and call the owner. I hope they suffer a similar fate.

  5. i've seen rescue groups come and take some dogs for their rescue from LCHS, including animals in distress.

  6. That's great news - however the problem is that they don't work with rescues enough. So many more could be saved if they did. But it is a start and glad to hear it..
Do you work there? Just wondered how you saw this.. or are you with one of the rescues..

  7. neither, i wanted to adopt a cat, but none of them that day spoke to me, ya know? anyway, some of the shelter staff were bringing out dogs in the lobby where two people were looking at them. i asked if there was something wrong with those dogs to a staff member, and she said no, that animals in distress was deciding who they could take.

  8. Good to hear. Wish they did it more.. I'm really surprised they even told you who the rescue was..doesn't sound like them at all..Do they know you?

  9. i've been there a few times before, and i had talked to the same kennel staff member before about what cats she thought might fit well for me. i've been looking for an older cat. i work so much i'm afraid a younger cat might get himself into trouble if i left it home alone so much. maybe it's because i've talked to her before that she was so forthcoming with the information?

  10. This is for the anonymous poster who has been in therapy for 2 yrs cuz of the animals that THEY THEMSELVES KILLED at the humane society. Don't you know right from wrong? Why did you do it? If someone told you to jump off the Empire State Building would you do it? Just wondering...
